Mission: One Year Later…
Posted on Sat May 30th, 2026 @ 9:05pm by Captain Steven Jenkins & Commander Nusien
Steven walked into Bar One, the primary bar on Starbase One, a PADD in hand. It consisted of a brightly lit metallic room with a round bar in the centre of it, standing tables dotted around it before hitting a dance floor between those tables and the seating booths round the edge of the room. He remembered his Academy days where he'd often frequented the bar with his classmates, and more than a few lunches there with his Mother.
He moved over to one of the standing tables, leaning up against it. It was the same one he usually occupied,…

Vianola had never trusted a ship she had not walked properly.
Deck plans and reports had their place, but neither told her what a vessel actually felt like once people started moving through it. For that, she preferred her own eyes, her own instincts, and a bit of time spent covering the ground herself. So far, Yorktown had made a decent first impression. Clean lines. Good flow. Enough life in the corridors to feel settled without slipping into sloppiness.
The gym had been next on her list.
That was partly professional and partly personal, though with her the line between…

Some ships had a feel to them from the moment you stepped aboard. In the lighting. In the sound underfoot. In the way the crew moved through the corridors. The Yorktown, for all her Neo-Constitution elegance, did not feel delicate. She felt assured. Clean without being sterile. A ship that knew exactly what she was.
Vianola respected that straight away.
She stepped clear of the airlock with her bag over one shoulder, uniform sitting crisp and familiar across her frame. Gold and black. Hair set a little more neatly than usual for first impressions, though not so tightly as to…

San Francisco was showing off.
The afternoon sun lay warm over the water, turning the Bay into hammered gold beyond the restaurant’s broad windows, and every white line of wake out on the surface seemed brighter than it had any right to be. Officers in uniform came and went along the promenade below in twos and threes, cadets among them in knots of louder energy, all movement and ambition and the sort of certainty people wore best when the future was still something they spoke about instead of something they had already had to survive.
Vianola sat back in her…

Steven walked into the Captain's Ready Room. Captain Shrak was sat in his chair, looking at the monitor on his desk sternly.
"Understood, Admiral." Shrak nodded "I'll see what we can do. Shrak out."
There was a chirp as the comm. line he was on cut. He looked up at Steven and grimaced.
"Admiral Shelby says the nearest ship that isn't involved in Frontier Day is a week out." Shrak said grimly "Unless Lieutenant Chen can get the Warp Drive back online within 12 hours, we're going to miss the festivities."
Steven grimaced himself. Lieutenant Elena Chen was Yorktown's Chief…

It’s been a year. Exactly a year. A year since Frontier Day. A year since I watched as most of the other Bridge Officers were turned into Borg Drones. A year since I watched Captain Shrak killed in front of my eyes. I still remember the feeling of his blood on my hands as I tried to perform emergency triage after he took that phaser blast… If Admiral Picard and his band of merry Mutineers hadn’t hijacked that old Enterprise I don’t care to think of what may have happened that day.
Starfleet Command in their infinite wisdom decided to…
